Adding your storage units to your Google Business Profile helps make your listing more complete and increases the chances a lead clicks through to your website.
In this help article, we’ll run through how you can add these units and link them to the actual unit pages on your StoragePug website.
Adding Units to GBP
It’s easy to add a product to your business profile listing!
Step 1: Bring up your Google Business Profile on Google
To do this:
Search “my business” on Google and select the appropriate business
OR, Navigate to https://business.google.com and ensure the correct business profile is shown
If you manage multiple profiles, you may need to select the correct one.
If you manage only a single business, it should automatically display the correct profile.
Step 2: Click “Edit products”
Step 3: Click on “Get started” if this is your first time, or “Add products” if you’ve already added one
Step 4: Fill out the form and hit “Publish”!
You'll need to find the appropriate URL to use for the "Product landing page url" box. Click here to see the steps for finding this URL.
Upload images to represent your units
When adding a unit as a product on Google Business Profiles, you should upload an image to represent it.
If you would like to use the same unit icons from the website to keep a consistent look, follow these steps:
Click on this link to find the images
Navigate to the folder for the correct unit size
Open the “Exported Images” subfolder within the unit size folder
Download the appropriate .png version of the icon
Upload it when filling out the “Add product” form on your GBP
Fill out the “Product landing page url” box
To find the URL to use in the “Product landing page url (Optional)” box, do the following:
Navigate to your facility’s rental page on your website
Click on a unit, and copy everything up to and including “/view-unit/”
For each unit you add to GBP, add the dimensions after “/view-unit/” using a forward slash between them
Example: 5x10 unit = /view-unit/5/10
IMPORTANT NOTE: Always make sure to test the URL by pasting it into a new browser tab before adding it to your GBP product. It is important that the URL works and takes you to the expected unit.
